Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Usher Take Home Soul Train Awards


After taking home Grammys for five of her six nominations, Alicia Keys is still racking up awards for Songs in A Minor. The latest additions to her collection of mantel pieces, two Soul Train awards, were given out at the ceremony that was taped Wednesday. Keys won for Best Female R&B/Soul Album and R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist.

Other winners include Aaliyah's "Rock the Boat" for Best Female R&B/Soul Single and Musiq Soulchild's "Love" for the Best Male counterpart. Best Male R&B/Soul Album went to Usher for 8701.

The Best R&B/Soul or Rap Album of the Year went to Jay-Z for The Blueprint, while Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott got her award on for Best R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video for her hit "Get Ur Freak On."

Stars such as Lil' Bow Wow, 3LW and Ja Rule came out to the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena for the 16th annual Soul Train Awards ceremony, which was co-hosted by Faith Evans, Shemar Moore, Arsenio Hall and Yolanda Adams. Check local listings to find out when the program will air.
