REMEMBERING AALIYAH....

I'm not going to post another music video like I do each year for Aaliyah's 7th anniversary, because after a while that gets old. How about I post a tribute video and a couple of live performances to show why Aaliyah was loved by so many?:



I thought the edited name calling at the end was TOTALLY unnecessary and ruined a perfectly beautiful tribute. Nonetheless, this video as well as her '98 Academy performance (under the fold) sealed the deal that Aaliyah wasn't just your average singer and dancer. She was a true VOCALIST. Such a title was not attributed to her name when she was alive because a lot of people were use to hearing her soft natured resonance over a hard-hitting Hip Hop and R&B laced beat. But when it was time for her to lay it down on a ballad, she sure did LAID.IT.DOWN.
