R n B singer Aaliyah remembered 7 years after death

It was seven years to the day since singer and actress Aaliyah passed away in a plane crash. The multi award winning singer, whose real name is Aaliyah Dana Haughton and several members of her crew passed away when they crashed in the Bahamas.

She had just finished shooting what turned out to be her last one for her single, rock the boat.

They were scheduled to return the US on the 26 but Aaliyah wanted to be home early.

Aaliyah suffered from severe burns, a blow to the head and severe shock in the plane crash at the .

The crew were flying back to the states from the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas where the video for “Rock the boat” was shot.

The coroner theorized that had Aaliyah had survived the crash, her recovery would have been virtually impossible because of the severity of her injuries.

An investigation into the crash also revealed that the her pilot, Morales, is a fraud and had falsely obtained his FAA license by showing hundreds of hours never flown.

An autopsy performed on Morales revealed traces of cocaine and alcohol in his blood.

Messages of condolences poured in from all over the world, with fellow artist writing tribute songs and using her name in their songs even to this day.

The singer, dancer, model and actress was introduced to the game in the mid-90’s and recorded Number 1 hit songs like “Back and fourth”, If your girl only new, “Are you that somebody”, “Try again”, “More than a woman”, and “Miss you”.

“Rock the boat” reached number two on the Billboard’s Hot RnB singles chart, number 14 on the Hot 100 and number 12 in UK.

She sold a total of 32 million records worldwide and won many awards, including the 2004 Icon Israeli Musical Artist Award for Best Selling International Female Artist of All Time, in honour of her work.

She was an actress as well, with her first major acting role on the movie called “Romeo must die”, which debuted at number one at the box office.

She also stared in movies like “The Queen of the Damned”, an adaptation of the Anne Rice novel of the same name.

Aaliyah was also supposed to appear on a number of movies, including the dance movie ”Honey” but her role was recast to Jessica Alba due to her fatal airplane crash.
